A trip to Rio Grande Credit Union Field at
Isotopes Park is more than a game of baseball.
It’s more than hot dogs. It’s more than home
runs. It’s more than highlight reel plays. It’s
more than home runs, strikeouts, double
plays, and stolen bases.
A trip to the ballpark is an experience unlike
any other.
RGCU Field at Isotopes Park, affectionately
known as “The Lab,” has been a consistent
mark of enjoyment and excellence for
baseball fans since its inaugural season in
2003. The ballpark has played host to MLB
exhibition games, the 2011 Triple-A National
Championship Game, the 2007 Triple-A AllStar Game, and of course, your hometown
Albuquerque Isotopes.
The stadium has
opened its gates to over 11 million fans as the
ballpark heads into its 22nd season in 2024.
While the Topes are the main attraction at the
Lab, Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes
Park has continually provided exceptional
entertainment to star alongside your favorite
players.
Through offering an exceptional product in
a family-friendly environment, the Isotopes
have become one of the model franchises in
Minor League Baseball.
Likewise, RGCU Field at Isotopes Park is
featured as one of Albuquerque’s most
popular entertainment destination year in and
year out.
So what is it about this beautiful ballpark, that
when set against the beautiful New Mexican
sunset, is so dif昀椀cult to leave?
Maybe it’s the sights. Is it the sprawling
green grass that serves as the canvas for
the players to display their art, providing a
backdrop for an amazing double play turned
so fast you didn’t even realize the ball was put
in play? Is it the thousands upon thousands
of fans decked out in Isotopes gear, covering
the berm and packing the suites? Could it be
the stunning 昀椀reworks displays overhead as
you lounge about your blanket, nestled under
the spectacular glow?
Perhaps it’s the sounds. The loud cracking
of the bat echoes through the ballpark,
which quickly turns into pounding cleats,
culminating with the thud of ball meeting
leather. There’s a chance it’s the laughter
from kids beside themselves at the antics of
Orbit or the famous Chile Pepper Race. It
may be the roar of the crowd as their favorite
Isotopes are announced and come sprinting
from the dugout.
Maybe it’s the tastes. It could be looking
forward to that one-of-a-kind ballpark hot dog
to settle your seventh inning craving, washed
down by an ice-cold beverage. Could it be
that urge to run to the nearest concession
stand for some “peanuts and Cracker Jack?”
Maybe it’s the bitter taste of trailing by a run
in the ninth only to be satis昀椀ed by the sweet
satisfaction of a walk-off home run.
Perhaps it’s the atmosphere. There is a unique
aura you can only experience by being at an
Isotopes baseball game. There is a special
kind of excitement when it comes to seeing
nine-innings of America’s Pastime.
Or maybe, it’s a little bit of everything. Maybe
it is just being in the moment and enjoying
baseball with your father or mother, daughter
or son, friends and family.
It’s Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes
Park – Where the Grass is Greener.
